Make mealtimes matter
Clever little placemats for growing young minds
What’s all this then?
We believe good conversations develop healthy young minds.
And good questions start good conversations.
That’s what we’re about. Questions that help people have better natters, chatters, talks and heart-to-hearts. Cute huh? So we’ve created a set of placemats that are sure to get chins wagging and cogs turning whilst they finish their greens.
Why Placemats?
We believe every mealtime is an easy chance to grow young minds and sharpen critical thinking. So we developed four indestructible placemats for every mealtime that leave devices on the sofa.
We’ve found 8 to 11 year olds will benefit most from our mats – but of course, that doesn’t stop younger chatterboxes from getting involved.
What topics do they cover?
Our mats are themed around money, relationships, identity and mental health. They cover all things from savings and sharing to deeper subjects such as loneliness and self-expression.
Filled with open questions, for both parents and kids to ask aloud, you’ll be chatting long after they’ve munched through their pasta and chips (yes, together – it’s a thing).
Wait, there’s more?
Tested on children*
Carefully considered. We’ve done our homework with parents, kids and educators. We found the placemats extended mealtimes as conversation improved. We left our prototypes with our tester families. They wouldn’t give them back.
*and well-behaved adults
Practically baked bean proof
We’ve tested these against spaghetti, eggy bread and ketchup to endure every mealtime.
Made of cork, melamine and wood, each placemat is nice and light so kids can help set the table.
Oh, and they’re wipe clean too.

“They’ve been a whole lot of fun. I’ve liked them… they’re a wonderful opportunity to preach to my kids.”
— ANNA (with two children, aged 7 and 9)
“Often difficult conversations are at night. So it was good to have the conversations at the dinner table.”
— NICK (with an 8 year old child)
“They liked feeling part of something. We’re quite open with the kids. So the more questions the better.”
